Visit several churches in your area and you’ll notice a number of differences that go beyond their size, their buildings, their dress or the quality of their coffee and donuts. Each church will have a set of stated core values - often enshrined in writing – that inform everything from the message, to the musical worship, to the youth and children’s ministries. For one church it may be cultural relevance or ministry to a specific demographic. For another it may be a focus on musical excellence and creating an inspiring worship “experience.” For still another it may be a dynamic youth or children’s ministry or their visibility in the community.
We believe the Bible instructs the church to do three basic things: Love God, Love Others, and Make Disciples. We are structuring our activities, service offerings, programming, and facilities to see this become a reality in the lives of those who call this their church home.
We develop and express our love for God through the singing, praying, giving, learning, and fellowship opportunities presented in our services, Adult Bible Fellowships, prayer communities and bible reading programs. These corporate experiences develop unity and are the springboards that lead to the rest of our mission.
Knowledge about God and transforming character are intended to have a tangible outflow to other people. Unifying love within the Body and acts of love and service to those outside the Body are the natural and expected fruit of loving God and a transforming life. Lives authentically changed by Jesus can’t help but want to share the gospel in ways that bring hope, healing, provision, and wholeness to a world that needs to experience the love and goodness of God and the new life He makes possible through Jesus.
Disciples are not created by default or en masse but through an intentional pursuit of accountability and surrender to Spirit-enabled transformation of our bodies, minds, and spirits. Applying what we learn in group settings to real life through Life Group participation, Man 2 Man (men’s) and Table (women’s) groups, and biblical counseling relationships is where the transforming power of the gospel is most fruitful. Jesus has not commanded his church to be big. He has commanded that we make disciples.
So The Mission Church exists to Love God, Love Others and Make Disciples. It’s that simple, that challenging, and that awesome. If that sounds like a mission worth giving your life to, we’d love to have you join us as we pursue our mission informed by God’s Word and empowered by His Spirit.
